15. About the semester at FAU

Imagen
Hi people! Today is the last blog post, so I will tell you about the semester at FAU. Every semester I go through a lot of different emotions and situations. This semester I decided to take less classes (no workshop) thinking that it would be less stressful and I would have more time for myself but I was wrong hahaha, and finally I was still consumed by the things of the university. English is one of the courses I have and the truth is that I have nothing but good things to say, since I found the course really good. I enjoyed doing the blogs, since telling things in English is super different and I found it a good weekly challenge, talking with some of you is also a challenge for me but a bigger one. Within the complicated part, I think it was getting there on time and not being in zombie mode in class :/ I think one of my best moments of the semester is now, since at this point of the semester I only come to English, anyway I'm looking forward to do the exams later to definitely c...

14. How difficut it was for me

Imagen
Well the truth is that I found the activity of medium difficulty. I found the text part complicated, since I am a visual person and I need colors to better retain the information or to mark the information I find important or key words (I need to highlight or scratch), so I had to go back several times to read the text to be able to answer. Despite this I think I was able to solve it well, it just took me a little more time. PS: This is a photo taken from pinterest :)

13. Someone Interesting on Social Media

Imagen
I think one of the interesting people I follow on social media is Lapili. She is a multidisciplinary artist, she is a Spanish singer, dancer, choreographer, designer and stylist. I saw her for the first time on the x factor performing the song "Cómeme el donut" with the singer Jirafa Rey, I think that was more or less in 2018, so I've known her for 5 years. In a first instance I found the song very bizarre, as it is different from what is usually shown but in the second presentation I saw, they presented the song "Muslona", I was quite struck by this song especially because the percussion was made with the shock of his own thighs (Lapili). From there I started to follow her on instagram and all the platforms I could, because she seems to me an interesting and novel person and artist because she was and is doing something different, different lyrics for her songs. I really like Lapili because she fuses different styles of music between afro and Caribbean like dem...

12. Outdoors

Imagen
In general I really enjoy being outdoors, especially when it is windy, not too hot, places with green areas and plenty of trees. I am going to talk about something we always do, without thinking much about it, walking. I really enjoy being able to walk, I love and value my legs and my feet, as it allows me to move anywhere. I like to walk long distances, I prefer walking to taking a bus (unless necessary), I prefer to walk on the ground rather than on the asphalt. I don't know exactly at what age I started to do it, I guess at a year or a year and a half of life and as far as I understand it was hard for me to do it because I had hip problems. I always walk, everywhere and I have realized that depending on the place where I walk or how I feel that day or the vibes that the place gives me, I walk differently, I perform in a different way. Precisely, in relation to this, I recently listened to a podcast called "Formas de caminar" of La reconquista peatonal, which seeks to k...

11. A Chilean Landmark

Imagen
A landmark that at least I visited a few years ago is the "Embalse el Yeso", I have gone only twice and well the reservoir is one of the iconic places of Cajón del Maipo, this is located in the heart of the Andes mountain range, at an altitude of 2500 m above sea level and is an artificial reservoir of water accumulated by means of a dam. The first time I visited it was approximately in 2017, I went with my sister fran, my cousins (ariel, horacio, sofi and benja). We went super in a super improvised way, since we went to stay at horacio's after a birthday and the next day horacio came up with the idea to take us. I remember we did a lot of walking and none of us were "prepared" or better said equipped, I went with converse, they got muddy and then wet from the snow/ice, I was unsheltered but I really enjoyed going. The place was very nice, I remember it too beautiful and the truth is that all we did was contemplate the view. The second time I visited it was in 2...

10. A little bit of chile

Imagen
I have not had the opportunity to travel much, very few times I have been able to do it and always to the same place and I would not like to go again but I would like to go to the Araucanía Region, specifically to Pucón. I have a friend who is from there and she has shown me many pictures and videos of the landscapes and it is beautiful. I would like to go to Lake Caburgua, see the Villarrica volcano, go to the Huerquehue National Park or maybe to the Geometric hot springs. The truth is that I would like to do many things and visit many places but I think this is one of my first choices, not if, I would not go in summer time because it gets too crowded.  I would go and stay long enough to go around the amount of attractions there are, and see them but not in a rushed way. I would like to go with my friend, my sisters or my dad and brothers. I think with any of them I would really enjoy the trip. I don't have much more to say than I want to travel and as soon as I pay for a few thin...

9. Someone from my family

Imagen
Today I will tell you about my best friend, who to me is just another sister and well they always say that you don't choose your family but she is part of my chosen family :) Her name is Antonia, she is studying psychology at the USACH, she is 20 years old and is a virgo, many people say that zodiac signs say a lot these days, so I put it in case it is true. I met her at work, at burger king, a month after I turned 18 (I started working in November) and she had started working in October, the thing is that my first week working I had seen her but I was nervous to talk to her because she had a not very friendly look but I was wrong, we went out one day and since then I think we have not separated. You may think that it is too little time to say that I consider her family but I really believe that she is one of the healthiest friendships and where I feel the most free to be myself.  I consider her to be empathetic, sensitive, strong, a fighter, funny and with a lot of patience, but a...

8. Lenguage

Imagen
I started to really learn English in the girls high school I went to from the age of 12 to 18, since in the previous school (from the age of 7 to 11) there was not a good English program so the classes were in Spanish most of the time, The program was based more on learning things that for me are not so useful (colors, numbers, greetings and I think that's all), every year we saw the same thing and instead of us speaking and practicing our English, they were more interested in grammar and writing well what little we knew.  Well, when I changed institution, it was a big change for me, since the English classes were really in English, the teacher spoke in English all the time and it caught my attention so I tried to study as much as possible to do well, I started to listen to more music in English, especially pop. In class I remember that I liked doing word searches, reading texts/books in English and doing karaoke (it was a lot of fun, since no one sang well). My "journey"...

7. A job

Imagen
I think I had never asked myself what work I would like to do, I had never meditated and reflected, I think it is partly because only so far I had only thought about working for someone or a company (being dependent) and usually I usually throw curriculum and if they call me to hire me, I am the happiest in the world. I have done my own business but it is more difficult to work this way, since you have to see everything (cost, profit, sales, promotion, niches, etc). Besides having my own businesses and doing cleaning in different houses, I worked for the first time full time at burger king, being in all the stations and I definitely wouldn't work in fast food again (serving people who want to eat is the worst thing hahaha). Well, thinking about it, I'm already doing the work I'd like to do. A month ago I started a business with my friend, where we sell notebooks on demand (ig: amatista.libretas). I like to do it because it relaxes me the whole process to make just one noteb...

6. A book

Imagen
The book I would recommend would be Fahrenheit 451, although I think most people know it (according to me it is a fairly well known book), it is one of the most famous dystopian novels of the twentieth century. In it, the American writer Ray Bradbury (1920 - 2012) stressed the importance of critical thinking. He also warned about the danger of an existence based on consumption and entertainment. This is one of the books that left me the trajectory in high school (2018-2021), most of the time they made us read books that made us reflect and there are few that I ended up liking such as: The Intermittences of Death (José Saramago), 1984 (George Orwell) and Apocalyptic and Integrated (Umberto Eco). This work presents a world in which books are forbidden. Firemen are in charge of burning them, in order to prevent the "infection of thought" from spreading. In fact, the title of the book comes from the temperature at which the paper burns. If I remember correctly, the main character...

5. My cultural radar

Imagen
Well my cultural snapshot at the moment contains the following items: 1. Music Serotonina by Khea. I heard this artist for the first time five years ago with one of his first songs "Loca" and the truth is that I didn't like the lyrics but then I was stuck with the rhythm and the chorus (I hummed it all the time). To this day I have listened to him occasionally, especially when he does featurings with other artists that I like, especially Duki. Khea recently released a new album and I really liked it a lot. Batalla is one of the songs on Serotonina that I connected with the most. 2. Tatto I'm fascinated by tattoos and that they have been part of so many different cultures, for so many different reasons and for thousands of years. I really like the old school style, the neo-traditional but also fine line and realistic. I now have a few tat toos and my family didn't really like it at first but now they ask me for advice, they ask my opinion (they've shown intere...

4. On my radar

Imagen
Today I will tell you about the cultural snaphot I read in the digital newspaper The Guardian. Specifically, I read the interview entitled "On my radar: Will Poulter's cultural highlights". Actor Will Poulter, 30, was born in Hammersmith. He has appeared in films such as The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, We Are the Millers, The Maze Runner and The Reborn. He talks about his passion for the world, his love of Kojey Radical's music, his admiration for the way comedian Bo Burnham dealt with the misery of confinement, how the book "Open Water" struck a chord with him, his fascination with tasting food when he travels, among other things. What I found most interesting is when he talks about Kojey Radical's "Reason to smile" album, as just a few weeks ago I listened to one of the songs, which if I'm not mistaken was Together and fell in love.

3. girl's trip

Imagen
Hi, I'm doing this blog late, since I missed the class where it was done, so here we go. The truth is that I could not say that I have traveled a lot during the years that I have lived, nor that I know many places. The places I have been to the most, in general, are beaches and mainly the beaches of Algarrobo and San Sebastian. These trips are with almost all my paternal family (my stepfather's) but I am going to tell you about a trip I made with my sister and people who are not biologically family but have been joining me over the years just like me. This trip I don't really remember where it was (I must admit I'm not very good with place names) but I do remember it was to a beach. At the beginning we were going with my stepsister Barbara (25), one of my younger sisters Francisca (16), an aunt-in-law Erika (29) and finally a cousin-in-law Jazmin (30) but for me they are all very good friends and partners. A day before the trip my older sister had a complication and can...

2. My only festival

Imagen
Hello everyone Today I will tell you about some festival, exhibition, concert or show that I have seen but I think I will focus on concerts or festivals. In these 19 years there have been repeated opportunities in which I have wanted to go to different concerts of different artists that I like (duki, stailok, movimiento original, la brigida orquesta, ysy a, mamborap, etc) but unfortunately I have not been able to go for different reasons, such as my schedule (almost always the dates are when I have evaluations or some important delivery), other times I preferred to save that money and spend it for something more important but well, the day will come when I go to one of those that I like. The thing is, I actually went to a "concert/festival" but I didn't pay to go. I think it was in 2018 or so, when Cathy Barriga was mayor, she gave them a level (8° Básico) of my school tickets to go to a festival/ FONDA called maipeluza. Fortunately for me and my sister, she was in that g...

1. Introduction

Imagen
Hello! My name is Catalina Loayza Ampuero. I'm an architecture student and this is my second year. I was born on October 4, 2003, I am 19 years old and my zodiac sign is Libra. I live in Maipú since I was 2 years old with part of my family, my mother and stepfather, both have hearing problems, so I speak sign language. I also live with 2 of my younger sisters, and I have 1 older sister who does not live with me and my younger brothers live with my dad. I have many hobbies, these are drawing, knitting, embroidery, painting, listening to music, watching series and movies, etc. but currently I don't have much time because as I said before, I study architecture. One of my goals is to get better at tattooing and tattoo someone other than myself (I have done about 6 tattoos on myself...

Career-oriented website that I like to visit

Imagen
Hi guys Today I am going to tell you about a website that I use, Pinterest (https://www.pinterest.cl/) On this platform users can create content and see the content that other people upload, you can create boards/thematic folders to save images, you can download images and many more things. In my case, I use pinterest to see other people's content, since I personally use it as a source of inspiration and ideas, that is, as a reference. I use it quite often, usually when I have downtime or I'm bored, as I have a lot of fun being there because there are too many things and ideas that I would like to do at some point in my life.  I would like to mention that this website is not specifically made in relation to my career (architecture), but I give it that purpose, since you can find images of everything (photos, phrases, tattoos, drawings, fabrics, models, ceramics, etc). I would recommend this platform to everyone, as it can be useful to anyone, although I think most people use ...

a meal i really like

Imagen
This time I¨m going to talk about one of my favoites meals, COMPLETOS but my version of them. Well, the completos are something typical of Chile and at least in my house my family and me can eat them at any time of the day, for breakfast, lunch and also at “once” or for dinner, but when I was a child I ate the "original" version with viennese made based on an animal but a few years ago I have my own version of the completo, a vegetarian completo. The ingredients that are needed are: bread, mushrooms (chopped and stir fry/ sauteed), tomatoes (chopped), avocado (ground/minced) and obviously the dressing/seasoning such as ketchup, mayonnaise and mustard. The chilean green sauce, is optional for me and I dont always prepare but the ingredients are: white onion (chopped), parsley (chopped),  lemon juice (squeezed), salt and oil. For me, first you have to put the mushrooms on the bread, then the tomato, the green sauce and finally the avocado, then I add the dressing and I personal...

Why did choose my major?

Imagen
So why architecture? It's strange because first, when I was a girl (12-13 years old), I wanted and dreamed of studying construction engineering but over time I changed my mind. Years later, between 11th and 12th grade, I was already more clear about what to study but I was between two careers, architecture and agricultural engineering. After taking the exams of the PAES, I was in my second option agricultural engineering at the University of Chile, I was happy but at the same time disappointed because I lacked a little score to enter to study architecture, but the day I was going to enroll , I got an email that if I could study architecture, then without thinking twice I did it. And well, when I'm stressed or just thinking about why I started studying or why this career, I have thought several times that it was fate and that fate favored me 🍀 I'm already in my second year and I really enjoying my career but I miss slepping. Thanks for reading my blog, I will be uploading o...

My favorite piece of technology

Imagen
My favorite piece of technology is kettle because i can make a tea or a coffee and share with My family and friends. I remember that one day with My Friends after school we did instant noodles with meat.  I can use this piece when it is plugged in with water inside. With this apparatus I can boil water to make different things like a coffee. They kettle affects me in a positive way because when i drinks coffee i feel more active and ir helps me to wake up and when i drinks tea ir makes me feel more relax. I obviously recommend to use this piece because it is something basic for me that i use everyday. In another blog i Will share more of my favorite things and stuff of my lif e
